Case Study – Chasya
How Chunc helped Chasya enjoy greater mobility, comfort, and everyday freedom
Meet Chasya
Chasya is 21 and lives with cerebral palsy. She relies on carers for all physical support needs. After finishing college, she and her family faced the challenge of finding a wheelchair that could reliably support her comfort, posture, and day-to-day mobility as she moved into adult life.
Finding the right Solution
Chasya’s occupational therapist recommended exploring Chunc seating systems because of their adaptable, user-focused design.
Through a “try before you buy” trial, Chasya was able to use the chair over several weeks in real-world settings. This gave her and her family time to understand how it worked for her daily routine, comfort, and mobility needs.
Being a UK-based manufacturer also meant quicker response times for adjustments and support during the trial period. This also meant she would not be stuck without a functional chair.

Previous challenges
Before this, Chasya used a powered wheelchair made in the US, which came with ongoing frustrations:
• Long delays for replacement parts (often 6–8 weeks)
• Stability issues due to wheel design
• Uneven suspension leading to discomfort on longer journeys
• Limited reliability in everyday use
These challenges often affected consistency and independence in daily life.
the Difference with the chunc chair
The new seating system made a noticeable difference in several key areas:
• Better comfort and support: Improved suspension and weight distribution made longer use more comfortable
• More stability: The chair felt more secure across different indoor and outdoor surfaces
• Easier daily use: Controls and setup were more intuitive and reliable
• Built-in pressure relief: Tilt and positioning functions supported regular posture changes throughout the day

Everyday impact
Since using the chair, Chasya has been able to take part more easily in everyday activities, from local trips out to longer journeys such as a recent visit to Disney.
The improved comfort and reliability have supported greater confidence and reduced disruption in daily life, making it easier for her to engage in activities outside the home.
beyond the chair
Chasya’s father, Julian Fraser, co-founded the Almond Tree Foundation, which supports wellbeing through community programmes, online learning, and ongoing guidance.
This focus on practical, responsive support mirrors the importance of having reliable equipment and services in place for families managing complex needs.
